where experience and passion meet

supporting your postpartum, naturally.

I provide everything needed to safely store and transport your placenta from the birth location, to my dedicated workspace. I offer pick-up of your placenta after birth, your choice of preparation method, your choice of capsules, and 1-day priority shipping delivery of your completed package to your home. For areas located outside of the standard travel radius (30+ miles from Enumclaw), there is a small travel fee beginning at $25+. Please reach out with any questions. If you sign up within 3 weeks advance of your due date, I'll mail you a personal transportation kit which includes a soft-sided cooler for safe handling and storage, pre-labeled food-safe storage bags for the placenta and ice, and handling instructions. The cooler is yours to keep, they are never re-used. If you sign up less than 3 weeks from your due date, I'll provide you with thorough instructions for proper handling. Turnaround time is typically within 48 hours unless the placenta is frozen. I am on call exclusively for placenta encapsulation, with 365 days of coverage. I also have a team of highly trained back-up specialists at the ready, so you can rest easy knowing that you're in great hands.

Methods of preparation

  • Simply Dehydrated Method

The following information is about the RAW Method also known as Simply Dehydrated Preparation Method, which is the most popular choice among my clients. This method does not involve the steaming process, the placenta is sliced while still "raw" and dehydrated immediately. The dehydration process takes place at a temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit, which is the recommended temperature by USDA for dehydrating meat. This temperature helps to destroy bacteria and active enzymes. It is believed that this method retains essential hormones and makes the iron content more bio-available. Although this method yields a slightly higher number of capsules than Steamed & Dehydrated, the amount is negligible. Feedback from my clients suggests that this method is the most balancing because it produces both emotionally balancing properties and increased energy. This method is ideal for those who have had a long labor, postpartum hemorrhage, or a history of it, and for those who desire to increase breast milk and energy immediately after delivery. Your placenta capsules will be provided in a glass amber bottle to help preserve beneficial properties.

It is important to note that there are two methods of preparing food in the Raw foods diet. The first method involves not heating food above 118 degrees Fahrenheit, which is known as the Raw method. However, this method is not considered safe as per the USDA's safety recommendations. Therefore, I prefer to follow the USDA's recommendation for dehydrating at 160 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a safer option. To avoid confusion, I have chosen to name this method of preparation differently to clearly distinguish between the two methods of raw preparation.

  • Steamed & Dehydrated Method

This method is also known as the Traditional Method, Traditional Chinese Medicine Inspired Method, or TCM. It is the oldest known method and follows the TCM principles and specific needs during the postpartum period. In TCM theory, the process of labor and birth leaves the mother with an open, empty space which is considered very cold or yin. To promote healing during this time, warm energy via heat, or yang, is added. This method involves steaming the placenta gently with optional herbs and then dehydrating it at 160 degrees. Fresh organic lemon, ginger and cayenne pepper can be added upon request. It is believed that putting the herbs in the steaming process brings out the placenta’s natural healing properties. Lemon is thought to be an antiseptic and helps to distribute the placenta throughout the body. Cayenne and ginger are warming herbs and are thought to lend their properties to the placenta. Ginger specifically acts as a facilitator for energy and good blood flow. TCM is believed to have tonifying, healing and warming properties. If your placenta has been frozen, this is always the method of choice. Your placenta capsules will be provided to you in a glass amber bottle to help preserve beneficial properties.

Additional package products

  • Placenta Tincture 4 oz $35

Placenta tincture is another way to benefit from the placenta besides taking capsules. Tinctures are primarily intended for energy, stress, hormone stabilization, and transition. They are great for returning menstrual cycles, menopause, and even puberty. The birthing person's biological mother and daughter can also benefit from the tincture, as it has an almost indefinite shelf life if stored correctly. The tincture can also be given to a baby who is at least 6 months old for teething relief, to help support immune function, and during times of transition. The tincture is made by using dehydrated placenta and Tito's handmade vodka, and it is aged for 6 weeks postpartum before it is ready to be used. You will receive your tincture at the same time your capsules are delivered, along with instructions for handling until it is ready to be used. Your tincture will be prepared for you in a 4 oz glass amber dropper bottle.

Additionally, they are antiseptic and highly relaxing! However, please note that immersion in a full bath is not appropriate after a cesarean. The ingredients used in these herbal packs are Organic Calendula Flowers, Organic Comfrey Leaf, Organic Lavender Flowers, Organic Sage Leaf and Organic Uva Ursi Leaves. All herbs used in these packs are Certified Organic and Kosher Certified.
